Copyright and takedown

Effective Date: October 13, 2026

Our approach

People post photos and text on Searchly: forum posts, listings, avatars and reviews. They are responsible for having the right to post them. We respond to notices of claimed infringement and, where appropriate, remove the material and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Reporting infringement

If you believe something on Searchly infringes your copyright, email the address below with all of the following. A notice missing these may not be actionable.

  1. Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
  2. The copyrighted work you say was infringed, or a link to where it appears.
  3. The exact link (URL) on Searchly of the material you want removed, so we can find it.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages.

Counter-notice

If we remove your material and you believe that was a mistake, email us a counter-notice with your name, address, phone and email, the link to the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your signature. You must also say that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We forward counter-notices to the person who complained and may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have started legal action.

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of people who are repeatedly the subject of valid copyright notices, and we may remove content or suspend an account after a single clear infringement.
