Privacy Policy

We only collect data necessary to provide verified services and support:

• Account Information: Email address, optional display name, and authentication tokens provided when you sign in with your email and password, or with Google on the website.
• Location & Navigation: Coarse or precise geolocation (when explicitly granted by your browser or device) to find nearby vetted vendors, estimate transport fares, and filter by Hanoi districts (e.g., Tay Ho, Hoan Kiem). Your position is read on your device to sort and map results; we do not keep a history of where you have been. It leaves your device only when you ask Ask Searchly something that needs it (then your city or coarse location goes to the AI provider with that question), or when you submit a location yourself, such as a map report or a pin on a listing. You can refuse or withdraw permission in your browser or phone settings and still use Searchly.
• Direct messages and chats: The text of messages you send in one-to-one chats, meetup chats and the city chat, who you sent them to, and when. Messages are protected in transit and by per-user access rules, but they are not end-to-end encrypted: Searchly's systems, and the AI safety check described below, can read them. A person on our team reads a message only if it is reported or flagged. Do not send passwords, card numbers or ID documents in a chat. Deleting your account deletes the messages you sent.
• Concierge & Search Queries: Natural language prompts, repair inquiries, and settlement questions submitted to our AI friend and chat concierge to return accurate vendor recommendations.
• Order & Booking Data: Contact phone numbers, delivery addresses in Hanoi, and transaction histories for booking verified maintenance, rides, and marketplace items.
• Usage Analytics (optional, off by default): Only if you switch on “Help improve Searchly”, we set a random visitor ID in a first-party cookie and record which features you open, whether answers were helpful, the country you chose, your language and city, and a coarse device type. We never record the text of your questions in analytics. If you also switch on “Personalise my replies”, your own activity is used to put the topics you ask about first. Both can be switched off in Settings at any time, which stops collection and removes the cookie. Raw usage events are kept for up to 13 months.
• Community content: What you post in the forum, Ask a local (questions and answers), chat and meetups, plus your people profile if you create one. Reports and blocks you make are stored so we can act on them. Deleting your account removes all of it.
• Error reports: When the app crashes or a screen fails, we record the error, the page, your device and browser type and your account ID if you are signed in, so we can fix it. Not the text of your questions.
• Country (optional): The country you tell us you are from is used to adjust the wording of replies only. It does not change prices, rules or recommendations.
